The hail of Spiky Cube
After graduation, everyone was battling to land a ‘dream job’ at well-known company but not for Ikhwan. He decided to go for a small and medium size company to help them in making online presence. Unfortunately none of the landed job interests Ikhwan. He jumped off from one company to another to find a good place building his web career. Until one day, he woke up in the morning and decided to go full-time independent(yup, just like that). After a few flips of dictionary pages, he found a quite nice name for a web studio. He then started contacting a few friends to join the independent team. Spiky Cube was born from the glorious days of web design and development. While you are reading this, he is enjoying every moment of being his own boss. No, being independent is not about that, it is all about not depending on a boss! Spiky Cube vision is to turn a ‘four digit income business’ into ‘eight digit income business’, yeah you know what we mean.

“When you are young in the industry, it is hard to climb up to the same level as everyone. People would not believe in you, people expect you to do things for cheap. I always believe starting up something by myself is a pleasure, that is how Spiky Cube was born. I want to work for myself, I want other people in the industry to join me and work for themselves too. Spike Cube is a collective group of designers and developers where everyone are passionate in what they are doing.” Ikhwan Burhanuddin
When Ikhwan was a kid, his father bought a computer for his family. He was so amazed by how the computer works and he even admire the technician who setup the computer (weird kid huh?). He played his first computer game, Wing Commander and was very amazed by the gameplay and graphics. His friend gave him a 3D software and he was like ‘wow, the person who invented computer must be super genius’. That was the time he decided to explore more on graphics related stuffs. Out of sudden, he found a great website builder software, The Dreamweaver. That was the time where his interest in web world begun. The first website he made was a ‘black background with red fonts with table layout, it was Dreamweaver era! come on!’. Yes that was how he started getting into the web world. Well, literally.
Besides from sitting in front of computer, he loves to jamming on his guitar. Ikhwan like to do different things, sometimes you found him driving around to nowhere, sometimes he is out capturing great pictures, sometimes he is out wondering around shopping malls, yes that is how his life is. In the end of the day, he sits in front of computer working on your crazy project ideas.
“When you used to learn Multimedia, people expect you to know everything because Multimedia is a large field. It is ridiculous and I do not believe in being a ‘jack of all trade’ because you will be a master of none!. Web design is not just designing in Photoshop, it is more than that. I just realized this after I finished my Bachelor studies. Thanks to awesome designers out there blogging and sharing every knowledge they know to the rest of the world.” Ikhwan Burhanuddin.
